The toughest choice of all eras. My absolute favorite horror film of all time is SON OF FRANKENSTEIN, but there are too many films that are better.

I would have to say King Kong, with Bride of Frankenstein a close second. In fact I consider those two films (along with the 1954 Japanese monster film Gojira) to be the greatest monster films period.

I go with BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN in a great decade. *Update 12-8-2011-----Today I would vote for KING KONG slightly over Bride.  Time changes everything, it seems.

For me it was between Frankenstein as a Horror film(stressing the risen dead idea) and Kong as a Fantasy(stressing the island full of dinosaurs and giant apes). I love my Creation to much...make mine...
